Alec Fly

Today I am interviewing Alec Fly, a comedian born in Moscow, Russian Federation who has been doing comedy for over ten years. To find out more about Alec, please visit his website.

Why did you start doing stand-up comedy?

Mainly delusions of grandeur and self therapy. I'm not kidding, after years of bombing, I just don't give a fuck anymore. Ok, I'm lying, but I hope to get to the point where I don't give a fuck anymore.

How did performing stand-up change you?

This is a good one, I've never even asked myself this question. I don't think it did.

What is the weirdest thing that happened while you were on stage?

I once did a benefit for the homeless show, but it was actually the homeless in the audience at an UHO organization. I did a bit about being mugged in central park to complete silence.

I also once did an open mic when it was interrupted by toilets over flooding through the ceiling above me.

And I also once had to follow Chris Rock at a club called Uptown Comedy Club in Harlem, he was booed off the stage for trying out too much new shit, and I had to follow him as the sacrificial lamb.
