Why did you start doing stand-up comedy?

Stand-up comedy in America is the ultimate freedom of speech. One can say what everyone thinks and never says.

How would you describe your comedy style?

Wow, I hate this question. Let's just say that I am first in my "style", so, we will just call my style "Upa's style."

Did you find anything surprising about stand-up comedy since you started?

I think one of the most surprising things (the reason this is possible in my opinion is the combination of stand-up comedy and New York City) is that you will find people from the most different backgrounds sitting together at one table discussing jokes where in the "real world (non comedy world)" it would never be possible. I enjoy the diversity and acceptance of the stand-up community. I found where I belong and it was very surprising to me.
