Paid gig

My first paid gig was this past Saturday. There was somewhere between 30 and 50 audience members and I did somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes. As usual, I started off strong and finished weak. I can't help but compare it to running, where I start off really fast and slowly run out of energy. But on the bright side, I didn't use any notes. Which probably explains why I forgot the last 6 jokes of my set. And the problem with forgetting the end of your set is that you have nothing to end on. Lesson learned. I also learned that even if I rehearse my set every day by myself, it is still not enough. I have to rehearse it at every open mic every chance I get until I know every single joke by heart.
