Memorize it
Here's a breakdown of what I do to help me memorize my sets. I split my material into pairs and then stack them in chronological order. My first step is to pair every joke with another joke in a way where they both have something in common. Then I must find the next pair of jokes that goes with the current pair of jokes in a way that makes sense. For example, let's say I have a joke about my Mom. I will pair it with another joke about my Mom. Then I will find two jokes about my Dad and put these two pairs together. Next, two jokes about my Grandpa. Then I will put them in chronological order - Mom, Dad, Grandpa. When I'm on stage, and I've just told a joke about my Mom, I know subconciously that I have one more joke about my Mom and then time to switch to the next logical topic - my Dad. If you can't remember which joke comes after which, it is probably because there's no logical connection between them. This is why I don't simply take my all-time favorite jokes and mash them together somehow. Instead, I will make a set called childhood, where I will put a pair of jokes about my birth, childhood, Mom, Dad, coming to America, learning English, etc.
