Bad week
Last week somebody somehow got a hold of my debit card information (the card is still in my posession) and started shopping online with it. Surprisingly, he/she/they only made a couple of small purchases. Here's the kicker - one of them was a membership to a dating site for heavy-set people. This is comedy gold, of course, but I haven't dug it out yet. Anyway my bank somehow detected this fradulent activity using their "magical" software. I could understand how my bank would detect this activity if the theif(s) made a bigger purchase than I usually do, but every purchase was very small. Kudos to my bank for being awesome. The bank took care of everything and mailed me a new debit card so at least this story has a happy ending. In other news, I had to bring a portfolio of my best art works to class (I go to graduate school) and I left it on the subway. I never realized I could be this stupid. It boggles the mind. Fortunately, these art works were prints, not paintings, which means I do have other versions of every print but they're not nearly as good. Anyway I called MTA's lost and found and so far they haven't found anything. It looks like there won't be a happy ending to this story. Here's hoping this week is going to be better.
