Joke theft
When I was starting out, I worried a lot about joke theft. I remember the first time I composed my "greatest hits" list, I thought "I'm never going to write anything better ever again." Wrong. The next thought I had was "If somebody steals this, my life will be over." Wrong again. For a long time I refused to put anything on Youtube because I was worried about losing all that I worked so hard for. Eventually I realized that I was becoming one of those people who are so obssesed with losing their money that this fear takes over their lives. I decided to go the opposite route. I went from having nothing on Youtube to putting absolutely everything out there. I decided the best cure against joke theft isn't hiding jokes but by writing more of them. That's why figuring out how to produce jokes consistently is more important than any joke or any set or anything else. They can steal your jokes, but they can't steal your sense of humor.
