Perfection and how to avoid it

I used to be a perfectionist. And no matter how close to perfect I thought my set was, I was never satisfied. I could never reach that ultimate state of perfection, because it doesn't exist. And as soon as I realized it, I moved on to new jokes and new sets and never looked back. Right now I try to avoid perfection as much as possible and instead concenrate on writing new jokes, getting on stage and making people laugh. I'd rather have twelve different imperfect sets than one perfect one. Do you want my advice? Leave perfection to the perfectionists.
